Green Diamond Adds Timberland in Northeast Alabama

Green Diamond Management Company officials in Seattle announced the purchase of over 92,000 acres of timberland in five Northeast Alabama counties from Sustainable Woodlands Fund, LP and its timberland manager, The Molpus Woodlands Group LLC, Jackson, MS. The transaction, in partnership with Silver Creek Capital Management of Seattle, comes on the heels of another 41,000 acres purchase in the US South, bringing the venture’s total land ownership in the region to ½ million acres.

“In the past year, our company’s investments in timberland have grown substantially, thanks in part to our partnership with Silver Creek,” stated Douglas Reed, president of Green Diamond Resource Company and its subsidiary, Green Diamond Management Company. The subsidiary started up January 2, 2018 as property manager for Silver Creek. “We have established a significant presence in the US South in addition to our long-standing operations on the West Coast,” he continued.

Mark Waterman, vice president and general manager of southern timberlands for Green Diamond Management Company, expressed his pleasure in the organization’s growth. “This transaction adds capacity and flexibility in serving the needs of our customers,” he said.
