The Hardware Store in La Pocatière will Reopen Under the RONA Banner this Spring
Lowe’s Canada, one of Canada’s leading home improvement retailers operating or servicing some 470 corporate and affiliated stores under different banners, would like to congratulate Karine Anctil for establishing her second point of sale under the RONA banner. Ms. Anctil, owner of the RONA store in Rivière-du-Loup, will also operate a building centre at 1011, 1re Rue Poiré, in La Pocatière. The building, which has housed a hardware store until last December, will undergo significant changes over the next few weeks. The RONA affiliate store will open its doors in the spring and will lead to the creation and maintenance of about 10 jobs.
“My goal with this new store is to offer local DIYers and professionals the same service as in Rivière-du-Loup. Our team will be there to help our customers bring their projects to life, whether big or small, with an expanded product selection and personalized support,” expressed Karine Anctil. “Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have seen several riverside communities lose their local stores, and we are proud to be able to ensure that the citizens of La Pocatière and the surrounding area will continue to have access to the products and services they need.”
Once the renovations are finished, the 22,000-sq.-ft. store will include a 10,000-sq.-ft. indoor lumber yard with a drive-through service. Customers will be able to enter with their vehicle on one side, put the merchandise in their vehicle, then drive out the other side. With the added selection of lumber and building supplies, the building centre will offer more than 10,000 products on site, in addition to an even wider product selection at rona.ca. Online purchases can be picked up safely outside the store or delivered to a residence by mail or by one of the company’s delivery trucks.
“Karine is part of the affiliated dealers within our network who stand out thanks to their developed entrepreneurial spirit, strategic vision, highly customer-centric service, and remarkable involvement in their communities. We are pleased to have witnessed the Anctil family’s skillful approach to challenges since they joined our network in 2009, and are happy to accompany Karine in this important step,” stated Philippe Element, Vice-President, RONA Sales and Dealer Support at Lowe’s Canada.
The RONA La Pocatière store is in the process of hiring for available positions. Those interested in applying can send their resume to lcharest@ronardl.com. A grand opening will also be held later in the spring to celebrate the end of the renovation work with customers and the community.
