ECMD, Inc. Celebrates Its 40th Year

North Wilkesboro-based ECMD, Inc. is celebrating a major milestone this month as it commemorates its 40th year as the preferred partner to big-box retail and pro lumber yards nationwide to provide a world-class supply chain to builders, remodelers, finish carpenters, and consumers with the materials needed to complete simple projects to dream houses.

In 1982, three entrepreneurs, led by current ECMD Chairman Allen Dyer, scraped together every dollar they could find to start not just a mouldings and building materials business but a company that would provide jobs, security, and pride for its employees and the local community.

Through the years, ECMD grew by expanding into new markets, new product categories, and through strategic acquisitions. Today, ECMD serves thousands of customers across the US through its 14 locations and over 1,000 employee owners.
