Mosaic Forest Management Announces CEO Transition
Mosaic Forest Management (“Mosaic or “the Company”) announced that the current President and CEO of Mosaic Forest Management, Rob Gough, will leave the company for personal health reasons. Rob will be replaced by industry veteran Duncan Davies. Rob Gough served as President & CEO at Mosaic from 2022-2024.
“Rob has played a critical role in the growth of Mosaic in his prior role as Chief Commercial Officer as well as most recently his role as Chief Executive Officer. On behalf of the entire organization, we thank him for all of his dedication and service to the company, and we will continue to support him as he focuses on his health,” said Chair of Mosaic Forest Management Jake Kerr. “We now welcome Duncan Davies, who has a track record of success and is well-known and respected throughout the industry by government, First Nations and community leaders. Duncan has the experience, skills and relationships to lead Mosaic in the next phase of its growth.”
Davies was President & CEO of Interfor Corporation for nearly 20 years and built the company into one of the largest lumber companies in the world with operations across North America. Subsequently, he served as a board member and CEO of Pinnacle Renewable Energy, the world’s second-largest producer of industrial wood pellets, and served as Chair of Resolute Forest Products, one of North America’s iconic pulp and paper producers. At both companies, Davies was successful in creating significant value for the shareholders. Earlier in his career, Davies served as Vice-President of Corporate Development at Pacific Forest Products, one of Mosaic’s predecessor companies, and as an investment banker serving the forest products industry.
Davies currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Binational Softwood Lumber Council and has been an advisor to several Canadian forest products companies on trade and promotional matters relating to softwood lumber.
“I’m absolutely delighted to take on this role,” said Davies. “The value creation potential within Mosaic is awe-inspiring. I’d particularly like to thank the Company’s board of directors and its shareholders for their support. In many respects, joining Mosaic is like returning home for me. I look forward to meeting Mosaic’s talented staff in the days ahead and working with them to realize the Company’s potential and ensure it is positioned for long-term success.”
