Obituary: Richard L. Albert

Obituary

Richard “Dick, Dickie & Trix” Albert, a beloved father, husband, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully with his family by his side as Gosnell House in Scarborough on June 17, 2024. Born September 25, 1937 to Levi and Evelyn (Gordon) Albert from Mattawamkeag Maine.

He was the President and co-owner of Builders Supply, Inc in Biddeford, Maine from 1987 to 2018. Prior to this he worked and retired from Diamond Lumber for 35 years. Trix was involved in the Kiwanis Club for many years. He also supported many local charities in the Biddeford community. One of which was La Kermesse Festivale as well as the Winter Fest.

Dick served in the Marine Corp. Reserves from 1955 to 1962. He received his Honorable Discharge on November 14, 1962. He was a loving husband to his wife Joanne for 49 years until she passed in 2006. Several years after her passing, Trix met Connie Frechette who has been his longtime companion until his passing. His greatest joy and real love was for his family. He and Joanne purchased land off Pool Road, called Trix Lane, and gave each of their children a parcel to build their homes. Needless to say, their grandchildren were always at Grammy and Grampy’s house.

Trix was an avid car collector. He transformed his basement into a museum that showcased a variety of old cars and collectables like Betty Boop, Marilyn Munroe and Elvis Presley. When his wife Joanne was alive, Trix would decorate his home at Christmas time to a point where people from Cumberland and York County would drive to see the beautiful light display. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Dana Albert, a sister Lorraine Lambert and grandson Jamie Albert. He is survived by his children: Dennis Albert and fiancé Lisa Nedeau of Waterboro, Doug Albert and his wife Sherri of Waterboro, and Danny Albert and his wife Karen also from Waterboro along with 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Sharon Cousins of Hermon, Maine.
