The lumber market remained unbalanced, with consistent reports of oversupply in most species and categories.

In the week ending June 28, 2024, the price of Western S-P-F 2×4 #2&Btr KD (RL) was US$346 mfbm, said forest products industry price guide newsletter Madison’s Lumber Reporter. This is down -$10, or -3%, from the previous week when it was $356.

That week’s price is down -$37, or -10%, from one month ago when it was US$383 mfbm.

Compared to the same week last year, when it was US$436 mfbm, that week’s price is down -$90, or -21%. Compared to two years ago when it was $630, that week’s price is down -$284, or -45%.

In the week ending June 28, 2024, the price of Southern Yellow Pine East Side 2×4 #2&Btr KD (RL) was US$345 mfbm. This is down -$10, or -3%, from the previous week when it was US$355 mfbm.

That week’s price is down -$7, or -2%, from one month ago when it was US$352 mfbm.

Compared to the same week last year, when it was US$405 mfbm, that week’s price is down -$60, or -15%. Compared to two years ago when it was $670, that week’s price is down by -$325, or -49%.
