LBM Advantage Holds Third Annual Management Leadership Conference

LBM Advantage, the nation’s fastest growing lumber and building materials cooperatives held its third annual Management Leadership Conference at Otterkill Golf & Country Club in Campbell Hall, NY on September 16th and 17th. The event gathered managers and leaders from across the industry to exchange insights and engage in training that focused on improving teamwork, communication, and productivity.

Chief Executive Officer, Dave DeJoy kicked off the first afternoon’s session with a presentation on Leadership Alignment: discussing strategies to foster cohesive leadership. He followed with an update on the LBM Advantage Financial Position, offering a comprehensive overview of our Advantage’s financial health. Director of Building Products, Glenn Canino, and Building Products Manager, Andrew Hess, delved into the Multi-Family Initiative discussing trends in building, key operational developments, and strategies. Business Development and Logistics Manager, Andy Polbos presented on the Time Value of Money focusing on financial decisions regarding reloads. Forest Products Manager, Daniel Bricker shared New Trader Onboarding Best Practices which included effective strategies for training and integrating new traders. It Director, Rob Andren, discussed IT Updates highlighting current and future technological advancements. Finally, Vice President of Southwest Operations, Joe Burlison, and Director of Member Development, Dan Ohmer, discuss New Member Prospects, offering insights into prospective member engagement and new opportunities.

Day two’s sessions were led by Lynne Jensen-Nelson, a nationally recognized speaker and leadership development expert. Jensen-Nelson who has over two decades of experience in leadership training, coaching, and motivational speaking shared tactics to “Lead with Influence, Impact, & Inspiration.” Attendees discussed key qualities of successful leaders, self-assessed their management skillsets, and learned how strengthen their leadership skills and build more communicative, responsive, and resilient teams through the use of DISC communication strategies.

Jensen-Nelson commented, “Wow, this was another awesome event planned and executed beautifully. Each opportunity to learn more about your organization and the incredibly dedicated team members that you surround yourself with, I am more and more impressed. Thank you all for having such a positive impact on the construction industry.”
