RONA inc., one of Canada’s leading home improvement retailers operating and servicing some 425 corporate and affiliated stores, is announcing the appointment of Sylvain Girard as Chief Financial Officer as of September 30.

Sylvain has over 30 years of experience in financial services management for major corporations, both nationally and internationally. He spent some twenty years with General Electric Company, in roles of increasing responsibility, before joining Atkins-Réalis (formerly SNC-Lavalin), where he held various positions, including Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer. Most recently, Sylvain held the position of Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer at Resolute Forest Products.

Sylvain will work at the Boucherville head office alongside his colleagues on the Executive Leadership Team, where he will lead the finance teams.
