Jason Ortega, NWPCA Vice President of Public Affairs, Named 2025 Leading Association Lobbyist

General News

The National Wooden Pallet & Container Association (NWPCA) proudly announces that Jason Ortega, JD/MBA, Vice President of Public Affairs, was selected as a “2025 Leading Association Lobbyist” by Association TRENDS.

Ortega’s recognition stems from his exemplary leadership and advocacy, which have advanced the global wooden transport packaging industry across national and international policy landscapes. Since joining NWPCA in 2021, Ortega developed and expanded the association’s government affairs strategy from its focus in Washington, DC, to the international stage.

“Jason’s leadership and advocacy inspires and delivers for our industry. His ability to navigate complex policy environments ensures that the wooden pallet industry remains strong and competitive, domestically and globally,” said NWPCA President & CEO Brent McClendon, CAE. “This recognition is well deserved, and we are incredibly proud to have him on our team.”

On Capitol Hill, Ortega heightened NWPCA’s public policy presence, doubling the size of its political action committee, PalletPAC, to support pro-industry legislators. His influence extends across industry coalitions, including his service on the board of the Small Business Legislative Council and the Advocacy Council of the American Society of Association Executives. He also co-chairs EDGE, a program that supports young professionals with access to fundraisers for Congress members under age 50.

“Jason’s pivotal leadership in engaging EU policymakers in Brussels successfully influenced legislative language to protect the use of wooden pallets in international trade—a major milestone for our industry,” added McClendon.

This prestigious award presentation occurs at the annual Salute to Association Excellence event on March 13, 2025, honoring individuals who demonstrate exceptional skill, effectiveness, and dedication in advocating on behalf of their organization and its members.

The NWPCA congratulates Jason Ortega on this remarkable achievement and his continued success in advocating for the wooden pallet industry.
