Irving Pulp & Paper and Irving Tissue Saint John Successfully Complete Major Shutdown
Irving Pulp & Paper and Irving Tissue Saint John have successfully completed a major shutdown accident free. This accomplishment not only emphasizes the mills’ unwavering dedication to operational excellence but also highlights a strong focus on safety.
During the 15-day shutdown, over $34 million was invested in critical upgrades and maintenance to ensure the continued efficiency and sustainability of the operations. Throughout the shutdown, virtually every area of the two mills was upgraded including boiler inspections and repairs and the installation of a new tissue machine winder.
At its peak, the shutdown saw over 1,750 employees and contractors on-site, generating significant employment opportunities for local skilled workers.
