Westlake Ace Hardware Opens 8th Store in Wichita

Grand opening events and a store-wide sale Dec. 6-8 will celebrate the retailer’s newest store in the Wichita area

The new Westlake Ace Hardware at the intersection of 21^st Street and North Greenwich Road (Regency Lakes Shopping Center) in Wichita, Kan., will formally open its doors with a “board cutting” on Dec. 5 and grand opening events December 6-8. 

The weekend’s festivities will also be an opportunity to introduce the new store’s general manager, Trenton Leiker, to the community. Leiker, a native of Hays, Kansas, has more than 15 years of retail experience. He began his career with Westlake in 2017 as an assistant manager in Hays, Kansas, before becoming general manager in Andover in 2019. Since May 2021, he has led the Derby location as its general manager. Under his leadership, Trenton and his team have been recognized with several awards, including Store of the Year in 2023. Outside of work, Trenton enjoys spending time with his wife Michele and their three young sons. Together, they travel regularly, attend concerts and local festivals, and are regularly seen at events in the community. 

The new 18,000 sq. ft. store is Westlake Ace Hardware’s eighth location in the Wichita area. It offers various products including lawn and garden supplies, fasteners, tools, plumbing, and electrical supplies. Services include automotive key cutting, key fob replacement, Stihl outdoor power equipment repair, carpet cleaning machine rental, and propane tank exchange.

The store also features several specialty departments and store-within-a-store concepts, selling such leading brands as: 

• Weber, Traeger, Big Green Egg, Blackstone, and Ooni grills and accessories
• DeWalt, Milwaukee, and Craftsman power tools
• Diablo saw blades and power tool accessories
• Benjamin Moore and Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines paints
• EGO, Milwaukee, Stihl, and Toro outdoor power equipment
• Seasonal live goods, Scotts, and Miracle-Gro lawn and plant care products
• Yeti coolers, drinkware, and accessories

Board Cutting and Grand Opening Celebrations

• A ceremonial board-cutting by Westlake Ace leadership and Wichita dignitaries will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5. Light breakfast bites will be served.
• A “Celebration Sale” will be held Dec. 6-8, during which customers will receive 20 percent off most purchases.
• On Saturday, Dec. 7, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., the grand opening celebration event will include vendor demonstrations, free prize drawings, refreshments, free kids’ activities, and more.
