Aubuchon Company Acquiring Rand’s Hardware

Steve Rand and Glenn Dion have agreed to sell Rand’s Hardware in Plymouth, NH, to the Aubuchon Company, the oldest and largest family-owned group of hardware stores in America. The store will be rebranded to “Rand’s Ace Hardware.”
After settlement on March 31, the Aubuchon Company will operate 128 stores in 10 states.
“Rand’s Hardware has been a mainstay in Plymouth, NH, since 1908—the same year my Great-grandfather founded the Aubuchon Company,” said William E. Aubuchon, IV, President & CEO. “From the beginning, our companies have shared the same heritage, serving small-town America, and we couldn’t be more honored to continue this legacy, ensuring that Rand’s remains a trusted resource for the Plymouth community for years to come.”
“For 55 years, I have had the privilege of serving the best customers in the world,” said Steve Rand. “I’ve had a front-row seat to watch and help our customers start families, build homes and additions, care for grandparents, be grandparents, and do all this in our great hometown. Beginning with my Grandfather in 1908, Rand’s Hardware has focused on serving our customers, and it’s been an honor and a pleasure to do so. Our employees have provided the ‘special sauce’ that makes Rand’s a reliable, friendly, and service-oriented hardware store and a mainstay in our Town’s center. I am grateful for our employees’ decades of unwavering service and commitment.”
Entering his 81st year and 56th year in the business, Steve said, “The time has arrived to pass the torch to another capable, family-owned hardware business with the reputation and strength to maintain and improve Rand’s traditions of service and convenience. As long as I’ve been in the business, Aubuchon has earned my respect as a competitor and fellow operator. I’m confident that the community will welcome our new community retail partner.”
“In 1908, my Grandfather, Albert M. Rand, and William E. Aubuchon, Sr embarked on similar journeys to serve small community hardware needs in New England. Here we are, 117 years later, still committed to small towns and people, dedicated to solving problems, supporting communities, and investing in the future. Albert would be proud, and so am I!” said Steve.
“We work hard, care for each other, and have fun,” said Will. “We’re thrilled to welcome the Rand’s team and are fully committed to helping them thrive as they continue serving their neighbors and communities for generations to come.”
