General News

Lowe’s Canada, one of Canada’s leading home improvement retailers operating or servicing more than 600 corporate and affiliated stores under different banners, announces that Sylvain Prud’homme, President of Lowe’s Canada, announced his retirement from the company. Pending his permanent replacement, Tony Cioffi, Executive Vice-President, Finance, Real Estate and Dealers, will be acting as interim president.

“After more than 35 years in the retail industry in roles that have taken me across the country, including six years with Lowe’s Canada, it is with mixed feelings that I am announcing my retirement. We have accomplished a lot over the last several years, and I feel that the time is right for me to spend more time with my wife and family and hand over the reins of the company. I feel blessed to have had this opportunity and thank all Lowe’s Canada associates for their hard work for the organization. I also wish to thank the management of Lowe’s Companies, Inc. who has supported me over the years, as well as the members of the Board of Directors,” said Sylvain Prud’homme.

“I want to thank Sylvain for his dedication throughout the years. Sylvain led the company through several phases of its growth and showed great leadership along the way. We remain confident in the long-term potential of our Canadian business and count on Tony and the entire Canadian team to continue serving our customers with the same focus and engagement,” said Lowe’s Companies, Inc. Chief Executive Officer Marvin Ellison.
