Obituary

Marvin Paul Curtis, age 85, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022. He was born November 5,1936 in Dover, OK to Paul Wayne and Melba Catherine (Dupy) Curtis.

He graduated from Dover High School in 1956. He married the love of his life Christine Ludwig on June 24, 1956. They were longtime members of Forest Hill Christian Church. Marvin spent his career in the wholesale lumber industry and in 1991 he and Chris opened Britton Lumber and Supply.

When he was not working, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking Marvin also spent many hours on the baseball and softball fields coaching the sport he played and loved. He and Chris spent time in their RV traveling with the “Happy OK Wanderers”.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Steve Curtis; two grandsons, Kyle Ray Curtis and Richard Lee Edmonds; and his brother Wayne Curtis. Marvin is survived by his wife Chris of 65 years; four children: Cathy (Don) Wolever, Gloria (Darrel) Dutcher, daughter-in-law Cathy Curtis, Mike (Lisa) Curtis, Amy (Brad) Hoffman; fifteen grandchildren: Jared (Cassie) Wolever, Joshua (Amy) Wolever, Justin Wolever, Timmy (Leslie) Wilson, Kandice (Jason) Jeske, Jennifer (Caleb) Koos, Austin (Morgan) Curtis, Amanda (Charles) Burkardt, Ashley (Andrew) Lott, Jacob, Emily, Josie, Sadie, Levi and Zion Hoffman; eleven great grandchildren; and two sisters: Peggy (Oscar) Thiems and Marlita (Orville) Peters.

The family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses at Integris Baptist Medical Center ICU 601 and 7th floor. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 4, from 1-8 pm at McNeil’s Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will be 2:00pm Wednesday, January 5,2022 at Cherokee Hills Christian Church, Oklahoma City, OK with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
