Obituary: Jill Ann Fisher

Obituary

Jill Fisher (Ferguson) born June 5, 1967 held tight to this life until July 9, 2022. Jill was surrounded by her family until her last moments, as she fought so hard to stay with us.

Jill Ann Fisher
(06/05/1967 – 07/06/2022)

Jill was the first of 3 daughters born to Ron and Mary Ferguson. What a beautiful, independent, and cheerful little girl she was! She grew up on the Boise Bench with sisters Jenni and Kara in tow. Summers of play, winters in the snow, and always with extended family at the farm. Jill graduated from Boise High in 1985 (with bestie Janet) and attended Boise State (go Broncos!). After high school Jill’s adventures began. Wine and dinner with friends, travels, and being a devoted friend were at the core of her early adult years. Jill lived outside of Seattle, sharing time with sister Kara, and finding close friends to add to her tight group of people (shout out to Liza and Cathy!).

After coming back to Boise, Jill met Mark Fisher, her person for life. In Mark, Jill found her travel and camping partner; and the most loving caregiver and protector. So much of Jill’s happiest moments were outside, from ocean to mountain, she was content in those spaces and found real joy. Her connection to the rocks and water is where we continue to find her. Jill and Mark were married September 30th, 2000 and one year later, on September 19th, twin boys Zach and Tyler arrived! Being a mom completed Jill’s circle of family love. Jill fiercely loved her boys, and in turn they each have grown into tender and caring young men. Zach and Tyler bring so much pride, love, and happiness to our family. They both carry the best parts of their mom to each of us.

Remembering our beloved Jill isn’t complete without mentioning her work with Idaho Timber. She loved her work as credit manager at Idaho Timber and she was dang good at it! Our family is eternally grateful for the unending support, love, words of encouragement, and time to heal, that Idaho Timber gifted Jill. Ted, Larry, Marianne, and the entire crew: you will never know the depth of how loved and cared for Jill felt from so many of you. Your flowers and words of encouragement were beams of light in otherwise difficult time. Thank you.

Everyone who loves Jill knows this truest piece of her: she was a fighter. She was determined and she put her fierce spirit into staying connected to this life and her people in it. She fought until the last breath, she did not give voice to anything other than life and getting better. She opened her home and heart to her sisters and parents, and allowed us to help care for her in her most vulnerable days, until our time together on Earth was done. We treasure those moments. We miss you, Jill.

Jill was preceded in death by very strong grandmothers: Janet Dunlap, Marguerite Clevenger, Daisy and Mattie Ferguson; grandfather Kenneth Clevenger; beloved uncle Terry Clevenger;and mother-in-law Betty Fisher. We know they are all there to guide our mother, wife, daughter, sister, auntie, bestie and friend home and to protect her through this transition. Jill is survived by husband Mark, sons Zach, and Tyler Fisher; Mom and Dad, Ron and Mary Ferguson; Sisters Jenni (Jim) Kienlen and Kara (Mike) Ferguson; Nephew Tegan Kienlen; Aunts Janelle (Mike) Fingerle, Cecelia (John) Sachtjen, Norma (Kevin) Petty, Shelley Clevenger, and Joyce Hochstetler; Uncle Ken Clevenger; Cousins Mike and Mark Williams; Mike (Chelsie) Clevenger; Cliff and Ariel Petty; Robert and Mike (Wegee) Sachtjen; and the sisterhood of Janet, Liza, Cathy, Shawna, Rebel & Bowie, Kendra, Stacy, and April (Ethyl).
