The goal is to award one million dollars to seven selected organizations to contribute to their construction or renovation project
The RONA Foundation, which oversees the philanthropic activities of RONA Inc., a leader in the home renovation sector in Canada that operates and services some 425 corporate and affiliated stores, is inviting Canadian non-profit organizations to submit their applications for the Building with Heart 2025 program between February 1 and 28. The goal is to award $1,000,000 to seven organizations, which will be selected at the end of the call for applications, to carry out their construction or renovation projects aimed at improving living environments or access to housing for vulnerable Canadian populations.
Non-profit organizations (NPOs) that help victims of domestic violence and their children, low-income families, and people with special needs or mental health issues can submit their applications by completing the form available here . The projects submitted will be evaluated by a selection committee and the selected organizations will be announced when the fundraising campaign is launched in-store in mid-April.
“Helping to provide a safe place to live for vulnerable people is in line with the RONA Foundation’s purpose. For several years now, we have been facing an unprecedented housing crisis. It is therefore important for RONA, a company that operates in the construction and renovation industry, to make a difference for people in need by mobilizing its teams through its foundation,” says Catherine Laporte, Chair of the Board of Directors of the RONA Foundation and Senior Vice-President, Marketing and Customer Experience at RONA Inc. “Housing is a basic need, which is why we help organizations that provide a safe place to live for vulnerable populations,” adds Josée Lafitte, Director of the RONA Foundation.
