A less eventful digestion week was welcomed by many players. The biggest question mark heading into spring building season – putting aside tariffs – was seemingly endemic low overall supply.

In the week ending February 14, 2025, the price of benchmark softwood lumber item Western Spruce-Pine-Fir 2×4 #2&Btr KD (RL) was US$475 mfbm. This is up +$30, or +7%,from the previous week when it was $445, said weekly forest products industry price guide newsletter Madison’s Lumber Reporter.

That week’s price is up +$30, or +7%, from one month ago when it was $445.

Compared to the same week last year, when it was US$442 mfbm, that week’s price was up +$33, or +7%. Compared to two years ago when it was $476, that week’s price was down -$1, or -0%.

In the week ending February 14, 2025, the price of Southern Yellow Pine East Side 2×4 #2&Btr KD (RL) was US$445 mfbm. This is up +$10, or +2%, from the previous week when it was $435.

That week’s price is up +$12, or +3%, from one month ago when it was $433.

When compared to the same week last year, when it was $398, that week’s price was up +$47, or +12%. Compared to two years ago when it was $515, that week’s price was down -$70, or -14%.
